Aloxe Corton

The village, situated on a stony hillside at the foot of the Corton mountain, has been called Aloxe-Corton since the decree of 23 March 1862 allowed the name of the commune to be changed by adding the name of one of its Climats Grands Crus: Corton. This village is located between the Côtes de Nuit and Beaune. Since its institution in 1938, the Appellation Village d’Origine Contrôlée has formed the guard of honour of the prestigious Grands Crus: Corton and Corton-Charlemagne.
