EXCEPTIONAL TERROIRS
13 CLIMATS
or a unique heritage
The seven-hectare vineyard extends over the prestigious appellations of Corton, Corton-Charlemagne, Meursault, Volnay, Pommard, with a total of 13 appellations.
These appellations are part of the great history of the unique Burgundian climats, where identification of wine by its origin has been pushed to the extreme. In Burgundy, there are hundreds of climats, but some are known because year after year, they produce the most perfect wines.
Our monopoly: The Château parkland provides us with the opportunity to own a monopoly vintage parcel in the Corton Grand Cru appellation “Le Clos du Château”.
In Burgundy
they say the earth is in love
Indeed, it clings to our boots and we are very attached to it !
The soils of the Côte de Beaune are made up of complex geological layers, of an argilo-calcareous nature. Clay easily retains water and limestone favors the production of great terroir wines.
For over 2,000 years, Burgundy’s grape varieties have flourished on these unique soils.
Pinot Noir particularly appreciates the gentle slope of the limestone hillsides, drained by pebbles, and Chardonnay prefers to express itself on calcareous and very clayey marl soils.
PHILOSOPHY
Caroline Frey, owner, oenologist and winegrower, is committed to perpetuating Burgundian know-how by bringing her vision of viticulture to the table. Caroline is part of the women who make the heart of great wines beat.
She deliberately chooses to keep to a limited wine production in order to preserve all its qualities, but also to introduce soft viticulture across the whole vineyard.
“Château Corton C. is a real jewel with its characteristic architecture and exceptional terroirs. We want the property to remain a little gem. The new winery we have built allows us to produce wine from about ten hectares, not more, and exclusively as estate wines.”
NATURE FRIENDLY WINE PRODUCTION
Organic, Regenerative, and Sustainable Agriculture
The entire vineyard has been certified organic since 2021 and is cultivated with a regenerative approach, guided by a dedicated team of individuals who are actively engaged and informed about the issues at hand. Our overarching project is centered on sustainable development.
We firmly believe that an environmentally conscious approach to the land—one that embraces biodiversity and respects people—is the path forward for producing exceptional wines while ensuring the long-term sustainability of our vineyards.
“These methods restore the balance of the vines. I can witness the transformation and regeneration of the plants and land. However, it’s essential to recognize that neither organic nor biodynamic viticulture should be considered as ultimate goals. Viticulture should be regarded as a continual quest for improvement—a dynamic, evolving method. There is a vast world to explore.”
This is the essence of how exceptional terroir wines come to life—through a virtuous alchemy that harmonizes the animal, vegetable, and mineral components of the terroir. A deeply experienced biodynamic approach infuses it with soul and depth. We don’t create great wines; we simply provide them with the means to reveal their true character.
“Wine production should complement and support nature, not oppose it.”
We choose the best approach for each of our plots, without confining ourselves to a single methodology. Our ultimate goal is for our vineyards, soils, and wines to thrive with vitality.
