Corton Grand Cru Le Clos du Château MONOPOLE

This Corton Grand Cru, cultivated as a Monopole, takes us to the heart of this village, within the walls of the Château de Corton C. This is a land where the exceptional meets the marvelous. It is where the excellence of Burgundy wines reaches its highest peaks, and uniquely, Corton produces both a red Grand Cru (Corton) and a white Grand Cru (Corton-Charlemagne).

The palate is fresh, supple, and dynamic, with aromas of fresh fruit and great length. This wine is the very representation of its terroir, composed of ochre clay and limestone.

2019

Rich, full and beautifully assembled, this wine has considerable depth and mid-palate succulence and yet with this scale of flavour, there is no unwanted oak or tannin. Indulgent and layered, this is a heady wine and one with real flair and ambition. It is the antithesis of old-style Corton, and it marks the beginning of a new and exciting era for this perfectly-sited monopole.
