Monthelie
“Picturesquely nestled against the rounded hillside like the head of Saint John in the shoulder of Christ, Monthélie looks like a Tuscan village” wrote Pierre Poupon. In 855 or 865, the name of this village is noted in the Cartulaire de Saint-Symphorien d’Autun: “in Montelio” meaning “on the small mountain”.

2019
