Savigny lès Beaune

The Popes described the wines of Savigny-lès-Beaune as “theological”. A historic vineyard and illustrious owners such as the Dukes of Burgundy, the Cistercians, the Knights of Malta… This village with a long and fascinating history is also one of the most extensive wine-producing villages in the Côte d’Or.

2021

Tasting notes: Ruby colour with bright reflections. The nose is quite open and fresh with vanilla notes. The palate is crisp, with fairly sweet fruit such as strawberries and a slight aroma of violets. A nice length at the end which brings freshness.

Ageing potential: 5 to 15 years

2020

Tasting notes: The 2020 vintage has allowed this appellation to benefit from a lot of sunshine, and this is immediately noticeable to the eye thanks to the deep colour with purple hues. The nose is rich in sugar, with notes of ripe black fruit. Finally, the palate transmits all the fruit aromas as well as floral notes followed by a slight tannic touch, bringing length to this appellation. A rich wine that also has good ageing potential.

2019

Tasting notes: A vintage very much marked by the vagaries of the weather, which had a strong impact on the entire vineyard. This wine has a deep colour with a very elegant bouquet marked by fresh fruit and floral notes. The palate is long with rose aromas and light acidic notes at the end. A unique terroir which makes this an elegant and feminine wine.

2018

Tasting notes: This wine gives an elegant, powerful bouquet dominated by red fruits of blackcurrant and raspberry. The tannins are supple and low in acidity. On the palate, the wine is deep with a long expressive finish. This aromatic freshness and slight concentration makes it a perfect appellation for ageing.

2017

Tasting notes: The nose reveals aromas of red fruits accompanied by hints of liquorice. With age, animal and undergrowth notes frequently appear. The melted tannins associated with a supple and fruity mouth form an elegant and well structured wine.

2016

Tasting notes: The colour is a deep cherry with purple highlights. The nose is marked by small black and red fruits such as blackcurrant, cherry and raspberry. Behind the fruity side, there is a floral side. The body is slightly tannic but well balanced. There is roundness and volume but also elegance. It is powerful and delicate.

2015

Tasting notes: Produced from rigorous selections of Pinot Noir, this wine offers an elegant bouquet, marked by red fruit aromas and very sunny. It has a light structure which gives it a feminine image that reflects its terroir.

2019

Riche, ample et magnifiquement assemblé, ce vin possède une profondeur considérable et une succulence en milieu de bouche. Avec un tel spectre de saveurs, il n’y a cependant pas de boisé ou de tanin indésirable. Généreux et structuré, c’est un vin capiteux, doté d’un réel flair et d’une grande ambition. C’est l’antithèse du Corton à l’ancienne et il marque
le début d’une ère nouvelle et passionnante pour ce monopole parfaitement situé. (À boire entre 2023 et 2032)
